COMMITMENT & SACRIFICE - HARD TRUTH
The Hard Truth From The Process Called Life
“Don’t you realize that in a race everyone runs, but only one person gets the prize? So run to win! All athletes are disciplined in their training. They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for an eternal prize. So I run with purpose in every step. I am not just shadowboxing. I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself might be disqualified.” - 1 Corinthians 2:24-27 NLT.
To The Dreamers and all who read this,
Commitment and Sacrifice.
I often view my life through the lens of an artist, a philosopher, a scientist, and a businessman.
When I was younger, I was ridiculed for wanting to possess a multidisciplinary mindset.
“You need to focus on one thing.”
“You do too much.”
“You have no focus, you’re all over the place.”
But as I have gotten older, these unique cerebral traits of insatiable curiosity have opened doors I could have never imagined.
I can make connections that many could not have thought of.
I view things from an out-of-the-box perspective, which can lead to new ideas and solutions.
I’ve landed great career roles, panels, and podcast guests from differing perspectives to have their voices shared.
However, the common theme with all of these was my determination to be committed.
Committed to the process of exploring the unknown depths.
Committed to pushing myself to what I thought I was not capable of.
Committed to figuring out who I am and what my purpose is.
Commitment - it’s often a scary term, even for me, because it means letting go of things that do not serve you.
Commitment is not sexy; it is boring and monotonous.
However, it can transform your life and allow you to live a life you could have never dreamed of.
May you always be committed to your purpose, your community, your people, and your mission.
I love you all more than you know!

Favorite Recent Stills:
Album of The Week:
Lover Boy season has commenced.
Four years since his last release, with Wasteland, Brent came back.
A generational love album, with no explicit cursing, 80s and 90s R&B production.
Brent has let go of the toxic ways of his bachelor 20s and entered his 30s with maturity, ballads, and emotional growth.
Thank you, Brent, for making an album that speaks to the lover boy in me!
Greatness!
My favorite album he has dropped. (Yes, even higher than Sonder Son)
Stand out tracks:

four seasons.
strangers.
pure fantasy.

Will, a small goat with big dreams, gets a once-in-a-lifetime shot to join the pros and play roarball – a high-intensity, co-ed, full-contact sport dominated by the fastest, fiercest animals in the world. Will’s new teammates aren’t thrilled about having a little goat on their roster, but Will is determined to revolutionize the sport and prove once and for all that ‘smalls can ball!
An emotional rollercoaster and typical story of fighting to make your dreams a reality; however, it is something that anyone with a dream can relate to.

My friend and former co-worker, Curtis Chou, has entered the newsletter game.
He is intelligent, hard-working, thoughtful, and hungry to learn. I have had the continuous pleasure to dive deep on different topics with him in private, and to see him share his thoughts in public is a beautiful sight to see.
He recently shared his perspective on “How to Make It” after hitting his one year anniverasy working in the Venture Capital ecosystem.
My favorite observation from Curtis’ POV:
Often, making it is all about being in the game long enough and being willing to pivot when necessary.
That is the definition of commitment and sacrifice.
