Captured: A parade in Downtown Dallas Arts District - April 15th 2023.
June 1st 2023: Itβs been a while since I last wrote my thoughts on this form. Since October.
However, a spark came to me from the Source after reading the page Temporary Rules in Rick Rubinβs The Creative Act: A Way of Being.
Innovation is found in breaking or bending the rules - but for one to even attempt to take the rules, one must know how to operate within them, actually notice them to begin with.
But where lies rules, finds the truth of discipline. Discipline leading to action, action leading to progress, progress to self-discovery which leads to freedom. In order to be free, there must be limitation on what we do not consider or take on.
Rick Rubin states βas artists, we get to create a new set of rules each and every time we play.β
As I continue to develop in my career whether as a creative, poet, photographer, writer, speaker, investor, and entrepreneur - I realized I had to focus in. When I came down to limiting and cutting the necessary distractions, more came to me.
It is an interesting paradox, where we live in a world, where it is always to earn more, be more, do more, seek more, get everything. But is everything really a good thing.
I am still figuring that out/ Iβve realized that setting parameters force me out of my comfort zone and since the last time I posted in October 2022, I have been forced my comfort zone a lot. So much has happened, and I will share in a post reflecting once I am settled in (if that every happens.)
But, I am so grateful that each day there is always wonder and awe when I wake upAnother opportunity to play and create this time on earth as a canvas for God to paint a reality that is up to me.
Until next time my friends.
Sending with peace, light, and lovingkindness,
